Promoting and Teaching Scottish Country Dancing.
Scottish country dancing is good fun, good exercise (both physical and mental) and a good way to make new friends. It is performed in “sets”, usually comprising four couples (but sometimes three or five), who weave around each other in interesting patterns specified for the dance. We always walk through the pattern before attempting it for real. Classes are on Tuesdays, 7.30 to 9.30 p.m., with a short tea break, from September to May. All ages and levels of experience are welcome, including beginners, but new members are advised to contact the class teacher (see below) before coming. There is a small charge per class. There is no need to come with a partner, and no need for any special clothes (e.g. kilts): just wear soft shoes.
